Food was yummy!

Appetizer of mushroom caps with spinach, Italian sausage, mozzarella and a marinara sauce.
We forgot to take a picture of the rest of the food because we were so busy eating it but I had a antipasto salad, and Chris had braised pork chops in a light flavorful glaze and steamed veggies.
Homemade focaccia bread, with butter and olive oil rounded out the meal😋
That is actually the sun setting over the prairie of Kansas.
The captain spied some sort of wooly animal that looked like a buffalo with horns and a long neck right before then.
Could it have been a Yak?
We also saw another herd of antelope today.
At 75 miles per hour with the Captain in command, it’s hard to catch a lot of pictures with my camera.
Don’t worry, the maximum speed is 75 miles per hour, and the minimum is 40.

In Kansas…

Interesting, huh?
Coming through Salinas, Kansas where we will probably spend the night if there’s a room.
The next town is totally filled up with some type of convention.
Pineapple Bag, the Captain and the Navigator are all tired whether we admit it or not😟
Wide open spaces and places with lots of corn growing!
George Washington Carver did research in the Kansas Nebraska area.
Remember, he was a famous botanist who worked at Tuskegee Institute.
Developed the principle of alternating crops to preserve the Integrity of the soil.
Now that your history lesson for today you all!

Welcome to Nebraska!

Clear skies and 42 degrees!
Snow drifts still here.
Our women trucker gave us good directions!
Pineapple Bag and friends are exhausted.
They’re taking siestas on top of Navigator’s luggage.
Land of the free, home of the brave!
I think that Nebraska got its fair share of snow!
On our way to North Platte, Nebraska to spend the night in another Hampton Inn.
Will be there around 6 p.m. mountain time, 1 hour ahead of our home place.
Keeping our fingers crossed the skies are just a little cloudy, and we think we deserve to have good weather by now!
The Captain has been outstanding in his leadership, and the Navigator is busily looking through GPS and maps, and all that good stuff with the guidance of the Captain.

There’s friends everywhere; all you have to do is be one…

We’re having a wonderful day and at the past truck stop a long-haul trucker of nuclear waste befriended us and gave us really good directions for the best way for our route to avoid the heavy traffic of Denver.
She has Southern Roots, and a wonderful Southern dialect! Has lived in Navigator’s home state.
Hoping that she will follow our blog!
Glad to have met you, new friend!
Safe Journeys!
Flowers at the truck stop?
