It's finally time to go! During the following weeks we will have an adventure across the United States with our trustworthy pineapple bag packed with necessities. Come join us as we see this beautiful country of ours as senior citizens not the 20 year olds we were many years ago.
Wyndam is upgrading hotels. They can take a challenging situation, fix it, and still come in at lower nightly charges, competing with chains who charge, in my opinion, prices that don’t reflect service. Wyndham does offer great prices, and we have experiences from all over.
This is a King room, $100 dollars less per night, compared to high players in hotel industry. Amenities comparable.
On the road again tomorrow. Deciding on tomorrow’s plan of action tonight.
Sleep well! Fresh cookies at front desk here. Have some with a glass of milk 😴
We stayed at the Super 8, just been bought by Wyndam. New beds/bedding and carpet. Spotless. Older, but employees have pride and keep it up! Elizabeth at front desk was exemplary. Cleaning and laundry folks had a smile.
Breakfast offered hot waffles you make, fruit, dairy, bagel/condiments, cereal, coffee/juice and eggs.
Was able to take snack for road even!
Rest Stop of Interest..
Above was at Rock River rest stop. Interesting travelers always. Meeting many friendly strangers!
Primo service, and attractive Super 8 Hotel by Wyndham.
We took a walk down the street to Family Dollar Store
I was very excited to see that they have an actual Taco Time here, as so many of them in Oregon have closed. We will definitely stop there before we leave Montpelier tomorrow!
The Navigator and Captain are very tired, so we’ll turn in early tonight. That is, after the navigator uses the treadmill in their nice fitness center here.
Guess what, we are now under two thousand miles to SC!
The Super 8 in Montpelier is owned by great folks locally, one town over. Outstanding establishment.
Hot breakfast in am’s. Give them a try, huh?
Welcome to Wyoming, Headed to Little America Wyoming.
There is a wonderful truck stop there! 2019, when we came through, there was a blizzard, and we had to stay 2 days in Rawlings.
Please continue to travel with us. The Pineapple bag, etc., had to stay home this time.
Finding cell towers is a daily challenge, only lost 2 postings.
Little America is a Well-Deserved Break!
One never knows what they will see at truck stop.
Shared ham and cheese, kettle corn, tea and Fresca.
Breezing along at 80 degrees, no AC, but bearable, like in days of yesterday.
A lot of folks out here could use refresher driving. We were blessed yesterday when the driver coming straight at us pulled off to the shoulder. Not just AARP folks either, just saying… it was uneventful today.
The speed is 80 MPH here in Idaho. Please be careful everyone! Life is precious! Count your BLESSINGS!…
Only to be rivaled by Kentucky, where murals of Thoroughbreds rule on rest stops there.
Bliss is a spotless rest stop, proudly displaying American Flag, honoring our country!
I ran through the water sprinkler several times down the road at another rest stop. Traveling without AC, it felt good, so overindulged and got more than damp!
Above are Management folks at this primo LA Quinta site! Thank you all!
Dotty, Maryann, and Liz, all dressed up for 50s party! Sorry Henry, you were only in video, and didn’t get a still, ☹️ Will try to post video.
From our registration to exiting, everything from sign-in staff, to serving of wonderful hot breakfast, to watching Liz with QA clipboard, everything was genuine and transparent. Hotel very clean, with warm atmosphere. Rooms spotless with amazingly comfortable beds and bedding. Lots of hot water, a treat for hubby!
We will see you all next trip, on Easterly to S.C.!
“Strangers are Friends you have not met!” Till me meet again, folks!
We arrived in Boise, Idaho, going on towards Wyoming soon! The Navigator and Captain are pacing ourselves, 300-350 miles per day, relaxing and sightseeing, as we meander the byways. Wish us Luck!
Wild horses and horse training farms are not strangers in this “neck of the woods.”
Eastern Oregon and Idaho are regions to be proud of for sure, along with many areas of our great country! God Bless America!
