It's finally time to go! During the following weeks we will have an adventure across the United States with our trustworthy pineapple bag packed with necessities. Come join us as we see this beautiful country of ours as senior citizens not the 20 year olds we were many years ago.
Drinkwater Pass 4200 feet. A driver tried to pass with a trailer in left lane, as we were going downhill, saw her in our lane since she couldn’t make pass🤭😒🙄😬. Double Yipes! God looking out for us!
Captain and Navigator put their heads together and decided that they had accomplished the goal set forth…that of visiting this great country of ours, and visiting with Reesie, Tom, and other amazing friends, relatives and those met along the way!
We will continue to strive to be faithful to God, and to be an example of His Continual Love for All.
We will also be of assistance as necessary to our children, and two amazing young people planning their life together in a Christian wedding.
The Captain, Navigator, Pineapple Bag and Grande’ thank you for your support, as we traveled throughout this country, and saw the Magnificence that is the privilege of America!
We had questions of whether or not we could do it, but we began our journey each day with a prayer in the pick-up.
The Love of Jesus knows no boundaries…God bless and protect the special person in our lives who will face unknown trials.
I hope that you all get the opportunity that we had, going on 49 years of marriage, and being blessed beyond measure.
Remember, today can be the start of something good… if we only allow it to be so.
After all the open roads, was unable to load anything onto my blog yesterday when we reached a largely congested area. Cell towers overloaded, even with unlimited data.
Took pics of some beautiful scenery. Here is some Oregon examples, South Carolina Sister, friends, and cousins.
Thank you for joining us today!
Good morning guys and gals!Mount Jefferson around Sisters, Oregon.Sisters, Oregon.Rhubarb cobbler from birthday dinner.Sisters-two of them. Canadian geese are very protective of their young. We didn’t get too close😧Playing goose in the grass…Canadian geese are very stately. Summer goodness, shredded rhubarb on the salad. Three Finger Jack, just out of Sisters.
48 degrees and 61% humidity this beautiful day. Oregon is a beautiful state.
Time for breakfast of yummy oatmeal 😊
Ready to add to, cinnamon already on it. Will now go down to the hotel breakfast where the captain will get his yogurt and milk to add to it. They only have instant oats to partake of there and do not make homemade oatmeal, so that is something that we carry with us for the Captain, Pineapple Bag, and Grande’. The Navigator prefers to have her grits and hard boiled egg. What’s not to like about this scenery? Watched our friends while in gym. The lone Mallard. The view outside breakfast. Pole creek or stream on our drive before Bend. Summer is coming… Time for exploratory walk and exercise! See you later… Until then, Count them one by one…
I don’t understand this thing about a shadow? Anyway, let the summer begin!
After first rolling across rocks and becoming a faster moving stream, the Deschutes then slowly meanders through hotel frontage areas in Bend. As seen from the weight bench, as the Navigator, Pineapple Bag and Grande’ did their morning exercises….Swiss steak stew at the Oasis in Juntura, Oregon, population 63+- The Captain’s bacon cheddar BBQ grilled chicken sandwich and homemade macaroni salad at Oasis.Along with the lunch menu, they have homemade fudge and homemade pastries.Wonderfully decorated walls… Scenery to see before and around Bend. A treecreeper common to the area. Navigator had him poised for a pic with his little hammer like mouth in place, but someone walked by and scared him. The Mama Marmot was starting to hiss at us. Grande’ and Pineapple Bag wanted to bring one home with us. We have enough animal burrows in our yard:)…we told them.A pair of Mallards getting on down the stream… Out and about in the country around Bend.Old fashioned bridge…This ground cover loves rocks and dry soil.. Lots of John Deere all around…Coming down off the pass headed toward Bend.
All of us took a nice walk here in Caldwell, Idaho, which has new industry blooming around around it…
Pineapple Bag and Grande’, along with the Captain and the Navigator, enjoyed the walk around the area where our La Quinta Inn hotel was located.
We spied some beautiful horses and we discovered they might be the wild Mustangs that have been brought in for Mustang Mania, held here in Caldwell to tame. They are so beautiful!
The front desk person at our hotel was not sure, but despite what they are, they were beautiful.
The area they’re located in is a holding stockyard of some sort.
Such Beauty! The duck seemed to like the irrigation ditch…Irrigation is vital to this great state of Idaho. The Captain was born in Kellogg, Idaho, famous for its Bunker Hill Mines of lead and zinc, some silver. Couldn’t figure out why the cattle was in the middle of town, unless growth had happened around them. I found out they must be in holding situation possibly ready to be sold.Twin Falls, Idaho was passed by because it is located off the beaten path, and we missed it believe it or not; Navigator not navigating as she should have been. Had a great lunch at Mountain Home, Idaho, a home for Mountain Home Air Force Base. I think I told you this before or at least text it to someone that Mountain Home Air Force Base is located on a plateau between two mountains in the desert of Idaho.Helping the medically fragile to have an emergency resource…Located here…Cowboys, not country boys. How about Cowboys that live in the country? What do you think B and M?Such beauty at the new Caldwell Assisted Living and Memory Center.Healthcare treatment facilities abound…
We are continuing our ongoing tour a little later this morning as we head toward Bend, Oregon.
For all you lovers of Sunflowers😁 Simba say Hi. He is being kept well fed back in Oregon by wonderful friends. We will be back soon B and M! Have to detour to assist with dress shopping! These folks look happy! Are there Wedding Bells for the future?
