I look in AWE to the Beauty around me…

After exercising in the state of art Fitness room here at the Hampton Inn, I ventured outside to look at the Flora and Fauna.

This is exquisite, I sure could not have made it!
It started with a bud… and Blossomed.
This too will Blossom… simplified enjoyment for Many.
Experience the little joys of life; first of all, you have to take time for them…
Full-blown and Glorious!
I observed these young women from buds to Blossom.
What a great experience!
May all of us continue to Blossom!… with kindness and caring.

New friends, lunch time, and sun shining!

Shared the Hampton Inn breakfast with new friends.
Pineapple Bag and Grande will have a new follower(s)!

Trivia, did you know that Dairies don’t always have black and white cows.
For instance, my Grandmother had a Jersey, that produced wonderfully rich milk, and butter to sell in little shapes.
My arms sure got tired from churning as a young child.
Lunch with this nice lady, and a volunteer from Triune Mercy Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
Triune is a non-denominational outreach for the homeless on Rutherford Street in Greenville, and offers a wonderful Ministry by Deb Richardson, Pastor, along with many services, by both staff and volunteers.
All are welcome, and by the way, why don’t you join them for a meal and commune with others!
Hampton Inn has many excellent staff and workers that travel to their many Hampton Inns all over the country.
I met one who was originally from Hungary, and we talked about Hungarian Goulash with paprika!
It’s nice for someone from another country to realize that someone here knows about their Homeland Fare.

Pineapple Bag and Grande are really enjoying all of the sunshine, friends, and fellowship with others!
More later…

By the way, the fire truck is here because we had a false alarm fire drill!
This young man offered a chair for Grandma here to sit in:)

Meanwhile back in Oregon…

Everything is beautiful and our kids mowed our lawn.
Thank you J and S!
They got some sunshine!
S caught a hummingbird in flight.
Babies will soon fly all around the porch.
What a beautiful sight!
The rhubarb needs thinned and the grape vines are budding.
Sweet table grapes-yum!
So much beauty all around us!
Check out the fern growing on the log…
Oregon is a lot like S.C. without the warmer summer nights.

Pineapple Bag and Grande’ got homesick looking at Oregon pics.

Attempted to get in Toyota to leave early evening…not yet P and G…soon though…

See you all for more antics later today after we sleep…night, night…

Wishing you Easter Blessings…

Services at Praise Cathedral in Greer South Carolina.

Wonderful praise singing by The Choir and an excellent sermon by Pastor.

After an excellent Easter lunch at K&W Cafeteria in Greenville, Pineapple Bag, Grande’, Captain, and Navigator had some wonderful no sugar added coffee ice cream at Brusters, one of the go-to places for homemade ice cream in the area.
Excellent staff, smiling faces!
Going on 70 degrees, and wonderfully warm with a blue sky outside- a perfect Southern day!
This week doggie was also enjoying the small bowl of ice cream; picture taken with owner’s permission.
Isn’t that a precious picture?
What a perfect day, hope you enjoyed yours!

A lot of rain today but the sunshine did peek through…

I love the southern rain; it’s not cold like that on the West Coast.

My sister and I went to Walmart Waffle House McDonald’s Flop Shop for jewelry and back again to McDonald’s for a unsweet tea for the Captain.

Folks you Travelers Rest are so friendly from the Hampton Inn to the rest of the town.

There’s that sweet doggy; she likes to ride in the backseat of my sister’s car and waits patiently!
Sis has one of those gizmos that allows for car to run and keep our sweetie either warm or cool, and nice and dry in this rainy weather.

A wonderfully eclectic shop that carries colorful clothes, purses, sandals, etc.., and all types of jewelry.
The Navigator and her Sis met all kinds of interesting people there who are excited about the Pineapple Bag Travels.
The Wild Hare art gallery was suggested to see for some local art.
This will be on the Journey for tomorrow which is Monday.
The whole shop had an aura of Easter readiness, especially these butterflies that speak of New Life.
The Navigator is known as Mama Bear to her daughter, and found an appropriate cap!
Thank you Flop zShop for carrying just what I needed!
More displays!
Look at all the beautiful color.
…and more…
To match my yellow necklace, earrings, and Easter top with yellow splashes on it!
Switching gears
Chuckwagon pork cutlet, squash casserole, cabbage, jalapeno cornbread, and unsweet iced tea at josey’s Chuckwagon on Wade Hampton Boulevard in South Carolina between Greer and Greenville.
Excellent fare and a full menu of many selections, plus wonderful desserts, which we decided we did not need!
Happy Feet at REI in Greenville.
The Captain and Navigator plan to purchase these when back in Oregon.
REI is located in many states throughout the US.
They carry Recreational Equipment and lots of items needed for camping, hiking, skiing, biking;you-name-it, they got it!!!

Pineapple Bag has a Brand New Friend!

The Travelers saw Grande at a Dollar General in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
Navigator loves Dollar Generals, and the Captain and the Pineapple Bag must follow behind her as she zooms through the store looking at everyone and everything!
Actually, the Captain was the one who suggested Pineapple Bag might like a friend, how sweet and precious of him!
That Pineapple Bag posing again Pre-Grande’ for Hilton Hampton Inn’s front desk.
Notice that these folks are supporting the mission of St. Judes’s, founded by Danny Thomas.
Be sure to read more about this wonderful Foundation involved with many facets of healthcare to assist deserving and wonderful children and families.

A Rainy, Semi-warm day here in Travelers Rest…

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with good Southern rain and 60s temperature!

Roses are beautiful, and were very fragrant in the 80 degree temperatures yesterday.
The whole facility is being renovated, the customers are still made to feel welcome!
We like that Hampton Inns have the United States flag displayed proudly!
The grounds are well-kept.
With the renovation experience going on, a brand-new fitness center room with new equipment!… that is primo!
There’s that signature bowl of fruit welcoming to tired customers who require a little carb lift.
Also, cookies, and this particular Hampton Inn had pineapple water instead of the traditional water with lemon.
Totally yummy!

Pineapple Bag and family are just delighted to be here with all the friendly folks.

The Hampton Inn staff here are delightful in their friendliness.

After homemade oatmeal in their breakfast area, with small helpings eggs, sausage, and country gravy, Pineapple Bag proceeded to make new acquaintances.

Good old Southern Hospitality, etc…

Ladies, did you get to wear Mary Jane shoes and a frilly dress with your hair permed when you were young.
Sis and I did; Mama worked night shift to buy them for us.
My first perm was with my hair hooked to an electric contraption, where they took the curlers out when they started smelling your hair…burning:)
At least, the salon we went to did that!
Does your state have roadsides like this?
Spring here is definitely ahead of most of the western states!
What did they do instead of Blogging:)
I’ll have to admit that getting that perfect moment is really hard sometimes; something that may entertain at least one person out there in your audience…
We had what they call supper with the nice people in this cozy home.
Fried okra, macaroni and cheese, pinto beans, homemade biscuits, apple pie, and ice cream, and of course sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, and sweet pickles to go with the beans, along with a little ketchup for the Navigator.
There was a low-fat cottage cheese in the refrigerator, so Navigator took advantage of it, and took small portions of all the other food to watch her carbs.
Great food, great fellowship, and happiness just being together.

The goal right now for Captain, Navigator, and the Pineapple Bag is to get a little shut-eye after some peace and quiet, in solitude.

Back with you ‘all folks tomorrow!!!
Don’t forget to dial in, or should I say click in:)

By the way, the Waffle House is the equivalent of one city block down the road. Pineapple Bag is delighted!

Hampton Inn in South Carolina…

Pineapple Bag has the prime seat in the room on top of the air conditioner; awaiting the humidity and warm temperatures.

Those hills are the birthplace of my Mama!
A corporation has bought the whole area and the name is Hidden Hills of Glassy, not just Glassy Mountain
My Grandpa and his Brother passed along the land that was sold by the offspring.
Glassy Rock and the Church on the Mountain are familiar landmarks to me and my sister.
Those Blue Ridge Mountains hold a lot of memories for a lot of folks!
My Grandma sent three boys to war and three boys came back alive and well!
I remember a lot of good meals and a lot of nights spent at the old home place.
The French Broad River on the way here.
Look up your history on the Civil War and see how it fits in.
